Sour Cream Chocolate Cookies (Grandma Morgan)


1 cup brown sugar                                       
1 egg                                                            
1 tsp. vanilla                                                
½ cup shortening
2 squares baking chocolate - melted
¾ cup sour cream

Cream together sugar, egg and vanilla.  Add baking chocolate and sour cream.

 2 cups flour
 ½ tsp. soda
 ¼ tsp. salt

Sift flour, soda and salt and add to wet mixture.  Mix well and add ½ cup chopped nuts.  Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet.  Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.  When cool – frost cookies.

Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar                                 
¼ cup butter or margarine                                      
2 TBS. cocoa
5 TBS. cream or canned milk

Mix together and frost on cooled cookies.
